Please note: If you have a special kayaking or cruising trip in mind, in the Gulf Islands or on another part of the coast, we will be happy to discuss the opportunities with you.
Finally some dates for the 2010 Season.
Our apologies for the delay in offering trips this year but we were waiting to solidify some contracts.
North West of Port Hardy Smith Sound and Rivers Inlet
This summer we are offering tours in Smith Sound and Rivers Inlet which are situated just above Cape Caution on the mainland side. Not many cruisers explored Smith Sound but now that a detailed chart has been out for awhile more boaters are enjoying it's wonders. Smith Sound branches into Boswell and Smith Inlet and several lagoons. At present there are no settlements, canneries or marinas in this area except for the Great Bear Lodge which offers bear and grizzly viewing at the head of Smith Inlet around the Nekite River Estuary. Smith like Rivers Inlet has good salmon runs.
Rivers Inlet just north of Smith Sound has long been a popular fishing spot particularly in late August and September. It boasts a number of fishing lodges, old abandoned canneries and several small settlements and First Nations Reserves. Penrose, Walbran and Ripon Islands all have lots of areas to explore.

Whales & Totems Johnstone Straits - North Vancouver Island
Located between the north end of Vancouver Island and the mainland about 220 miles up the coast from Vancouver. One can expect to see a variety of whales, porpoises and other marine mammals and birds in this spectacular area where the ocean meets the Inland Passage. Among the hundreds of islands can be found old Kwakwaka'wakw village sites and middens. One of our stops, the native and fishing village of Alert Bay, holds many points of interest such as the U'mista Center, totem poles and an ecology park. These 5 - 6 day kayak/mothership excursions start and finish in Port McNeill on Vancouver Island.

Note: To keep prices reasonable for the Money Saver Trips, we provide kayaks and gear, guide/instructor but no cook. This means that everyone takes a turn in the galley, but don't worry, all the menus are tasty and easy to prepare, so don't let that stop you joining us. Prices are per person. If you have a group, family or association and wish to organize a trip in an other area but along the same format as above, please contact us. We will be happy to help you out.
All our trips are on the 84 foot vessel the "Curve of Time" and are of a mothership nature. This means the boat provides the accommodations, meals, showers, kayaks and guides. We move each day to provide you with new and exciting areas to explore. We do not include any airfares to or from the pick up and drop off points or any cost of accommodations before or after the tour unless requested to so.
Meals: All meals are hardy West Coast cuisine. Whenever it is possible we catch seafood along the way.
Note: Our paddling Schedule provides the client and ourselves with an outline for the coming year. Whenever necessary we will modify it to meet your requirements, be it duration of trip or location.
